Hi!

My name is Walter, the owner and photographer of Backcountry Dreams Photograpy.
I am passionate about photography whether film or digital. Currently about 95% of my stock is film. Transperancy to be precise and I have about 6000 images on file. My digital stock is now growing though since my complete move to digital was forced by the theft of all of my camera gear. I decided to jump back in with all digital (Nikon D200) since things seem to moving in that direction. I can't say that it has been all bad though. I have enjoyed some of the new possibilities presented using digital tools. You can check out my digital art section to view what I have been doing.

I love nature and scenic photography. To me when I can make someone feel like they want to be at the place where I took the photograph, I have succeded in my purpose. You will find that is the main theme of my photography.

One of my hobbies includes off roading with my 1971 Early Bronco. Since that gets me involved with some of the events that take place it only seemed natural to take photographs of what we do. So I did some freelance work for a while for 4 Wheel Drive and Sport Utitliy magazine. I had several pictures and articles published as well as 1 cover for the magazine.

I am currently living in Texas, so you will also find a good selection of Texas Wild Flowers here.

My greatest passion in life is my faith in Jesus Christ. With this site as well as my photography I hope to bring him glory and honor.
It is by the way his great creation that I love to capture.
